We’ve been fortunate to have enjoyed summer-like weather into October but it’s finally beginning to feel like autumn. Between cooler temperatures, dusk falling earlier, and a vivid tapestry of trees dressed in fiery reds, sienna and gold, the shift to fall is here.
Displays of plump orange pumpkins and colorful mums grace front porches; Octoberfests and Fairs are in full swing, and apple/pumpkin flavored desserts and beverages abound. It won’t be long before the smell of wood-smoke permeates the air, and little ghosts and goblins venture forth in search of goodies for trick-or-treat.
Autumn brings many things, including a time to prepare for the coming cold weather. Is your yard ready? Is your home ready?
The kids are back in school, and Labor Day is right around the corner. Even though the official start of fall is still a few weeks away, rolling into September always feels like the last hurrah of summer. At least to me. Fortunately, we have a long three day weekend in which to wave goodbye.
A bit of lazy lounging followed by an invigorating dip, is a great way to pass a summer afternoon. And if you’re in the mood for a bit of game play, add a floating basketball net or rig an aquatic volley ball net to your pool. Pools are also great for exercising. Whether you’re looking for an aerobic workout through swimming, or prefer low-impact moves for toning muscles, pools are ideal for getting in shape. They can also be wonderfully therapeutic. And on a hot summer evening, there’s nothing more magical than swimming at dusk to the glow of tiki lights or underwater pool lamps.
Many homes today have a formal living room and a family room, the latter an informal setting for leisure activities such as enjoying TV with family and friends. Spin back the centuries and today’s formal living room is much like yesteryear’s parlor.

Our Brownstone agent was referred to us from a colleague. From the beginning, his service to us was superior and it was evident he had our best interests in mind. We could not have been any happier with his service.
