Celebrating Fifty Years of Business!
Did you know? Brownstone Real Estate is celebrating the BIG 5-0! Fifty years of serving the real estate needs of Central Pennsylvania. A lot has changed in half a century. As an example, did you know the average cost of a new home in 1971 was $25,250? Compare that to mid $200’s the approximate average cost of a house in our area today.
In 1971 guys wore belted turtlenecks and herringbone striped flare jeans, while ladies had a passion for pant suits and crinkle vinyl granny boots. I don’t think anyone misses those fashions. 1971 also saw the launch of Federal Express, Bed Bath & Beyond, Cuisinart, Lucasfilm, and Starbucks, so Brownstone was in good company. Some other milestones: The 26th amendment lowering the voting age to eighteen was officially adopted, cigarette advertising ended on television, and Alan Shepard hit a golf ball on the moon.
Despite all the changes the intervening years and decades have seen, one thing remains the same: Brownstone’s commitment to quality real estate service. Our clients always come first. That philosophy was the foundation for launching Brownstone in 1971 and still holds true today.
We pride ourselves on our reputation and the faith the local community has in us. Real Estate has seen numerous ups and downs through the decades, but we’ve weathered them all, emerging stronger for the tough periods. The industry has evolved, and we’ve evolved with it.
